About this part

A 3.5-inch heat-shielded catless downpipe set for the N63TU3, BMW's third technical update of the 4.4-litre twin-turbocharged V8. The turbochargers on this engine sit inside the vee, which means the downpipes run through the tightest and hottest part of the engine bay.

That is why the heat shielding on a part like this is doing real work rather than serving as a selling point: it keeps radiant heat off everything packed in around it. Going to 3.5 inches and removing the primary catalysts takes a substantial restriction out of the exhaust path on an engine that has plenty to give once it can breathe.

The N63TU3 spans several model years and body styles, so confirm your chassis with us before ordering rather than matching on engine code alone. A tune is required, these are for off-road and competition use only, and we do not ship them to California.

A downpipe on the factory calibration leaves the engine expecting a catalyst that is no longer there, which sets a check engine light and can put the car into reduced power.

What does "off-road and competition use only" mean?

It means the part removes or alters emissions equipment. It is not legal for sale or use on pollution-controlled motor vehicles and it is not CARB certified. Fitting one to a car driven on public roads is the owner's decision and the owner's responsibility. We do not ship these parts to California.

Can I pick up locally instead of paying for shipping?
