A front mount intake for the S58 in the G8X M3 and M4. Rather than leaving the filter in the engine bay, a front mount system relocates the inlet to the front of the car, ahead of the radiator, where the air is coolest and moving fastest. On a hot South Florida day the difference between ambient air at the nose of the car and heat-soaked air behind the radiator is not small.
It replaces the factory airbox and inlet tubing between the outside air and the turbochargers. Fitting one means taking the front of the car apart, so it is a longer job than a drop-in filter.
No tune is required for the intake to run correctly, though a tuner can take advantage of the extra airflow if the car is being calibrated anyway. No emissions equipment is affected and it ships to all 50 states.

Every product page answers this directly. As a rule, downpipes need a tune and intakes, charge pipes and cooler guards do not. A downpipe on the factory calibration leaves the engine expecting a catalyst that is no longer there, which sets a check engine light and can put the car into reduced power.
It means the part removes or alters emissions equipment. It is not legal for sale or use on pollution-controlled motor vehicles and it is not CARB certified. Fitting one to a car driven on public roads is the owner's decision and the owner's responsibility. We do not ship these parts to California.
