A protective screen for the engine oil cooler on the S58-powered G8X M3 and M4. The cooler sits low behind the front bumper opening with nothing ahead of it, which puts it directly in line with whatever the car in front throws up. One stone through the core means a cooler replacement and an oil change, usually at the worst possible time.
The guard mounts in front of the cooler and stops debris before it reaches the fins, while still passing the air the cooler needs to work. It is a protective part: it does not add power and it does not change how the car runs.

A downpipe on the factory calibration leaves the engine expecting a catalyst that is no longer there, which sets a check engine light and can put the car into reduced power.
